M.S. in Occupational Therapy - Now expanding to the Grand Rapids Campus! Recruitment is currently in progress for a fall 2009 cohort. The admission deadline is February 1, 2009. This highly-rated, twenty-eight month program of combined academic and clinical education is intended for the student who already has a bachelor's degree in any area of study other than occupational therapy. Master of Social Work (MSW) – projected to be among the top growth fields this decade, social workers with a Masters degree will find good job opportunities and they will maximize the impact they have on clients. The Grand Rapids MSW faculty emphasizes substantial personal attention and contact with students, both in the classroom and in developing and supervising practicum experiences in the field.
Family and Consumer Sciences/Family Life Education (MA) – this Master’s degree prepares students for certification as Family Life Educators (CFLE) with expertise in the ten Substance Areas required by the National Council on Family Relations. Graduates are well prepared with intervention skills for helping others cope with difficult life events and family transitions, and work in school, youth, military, church, senior citizen and adult education programs and agencies.
Human Resources Development (MA) – businesses recognize that talented people are scarce commodities, so it is vital to attract, develop, promote and retain the best and brightest. Increasingly, leadership teams in corporate and other settings are involving HRD professionals at the business strategy level to influence and deliver employee training and development to impact business results. Instead of a broad overview of the multiple aspects of the human resources function, this program specifically provides graduates with the knowledge, skills, concepts and methods of the HRD profession.
