Registration FAQs

It is to your benefit to register for courses for an upcoming semester or session as soon as you are eligible. A list of Course Offerings is always available on our website several weeks before registration opens for an upcoming enrollment period. The actual registration period can begin several months before the start of courses in that semester or session. Please check the Registrar's Office website for the most up-to-date courses available, important deadlines, and the WMU policies.  Course Schedules are also available on-line.

The GoWMU portal is your online information center. GoWMU will allow you to:
--- Register online at your convenience, whether you are on the main campus, at a branch campus, at a place of employment, or at home.
--- Access online tuition statements, transcripts, and grades
--- Access electronic journals and other library services
--- Obtain main and branch campus news and announcements

You will need your Bronco NetID to sign onto the GoWMU portal. Your Bronco NetID is sent to new students through the mail.  If you have not received it, or forgot what it is, you can receive help from the Office of Information Technology help line:

Every course at WMU carries a unique five digit CRN or "course reference number."  This number is printed in the Course Offerings booklet and is provided on-line. You may use this number to speed up registration or if you don't have it, you may search for your course by department.

Occasionally it is necessary to cancel a course because of insufficient enrollments or because an instructor is not available to teach. The University reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule courses. If we must cancel your course, we will make every effort to contact you by telephone and give you an opportunity to enroll in another course. Therefore, it is important that you update your address information within GoWMU. Notice of canceled and re-scheduled courses will also be posted at classroom locations.

You may change your schedule of courses (add or drop) through the automated registration systems in GoWMU or by calling your local campus.  If you call us, a written or faxed request must be submitted to confirm your registration.
